Cleantech Grants was founded by Joshua Mosshart to answer a critical need in today’s economy. The development of innovative and capable clean technology and alternative energy companies is becoming increasingly important to solve one of society’s toughest challenges – how can the world move forward sustainably? Cleantech Grants finds the financial resources that green technology businesses require through procuring grant money that has been set aside by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Department of Agriculture, the National Science Foundation, and other government agencies for the express purpose of supporting clean technology and innovation.
Joshua Mosshart has been creatively finding ways to fund worthwhile projects since he was a youth. Following this goal is more than just a career for him – it is his passion. While his peers were first stepping into the professional world, he had already co-founded a non-profit to help preserve endangered species, which was the first non-profit to operate on the National Mall in Washington D.C.
Following this project, he went on to serve as a Merchant Marine, gaining insight into an incredibly challenging work environment, an experience that prepared him for his long and exemplary career in financial markets. Mosshart worked for years in the debt and equity markets, managing wealth for high net worth clients. In 1997, he used his experience and financial acumen to create his own wealth management services company. Subsequently, he served as President of Mosshart Wealth Management until 2011.
Soon after he founded Malia Ventures Inc. which provides innovative technology companies in the energy, healthcare, transportation and the agriculture sector with growth strategies through technology licensing and transfer in International markets, with a special focus on MENA, Middle East, North Africa and BRIC, Brazil, Russia, India and China followed by a tenure with Commercial Capital Plus, a remarkably successful lending firm based in California, offering a wide range of financing services from commercial real estate to energy and commodity finance.
Joshua Mosshart is a highly motivated individual, especially when it comes to championing progress. While working in capital markets, he earned over ten different professional certifications, including the title of Chartered Financial Consultant and Completing the Certified Financial Planner curriculum through The American College. With a desire to specialize in multiple areas of the financial services sector, Mosshart went on to become a Certified Estate Specialist.
He has also earned the highest level of designation in the life insurance profession, as a Chartered Life Underwriter, a designation that is held by only one percent of financial advisors.
In addition to that, Mosshart is also a Certified Estate Advisor. In 2011 he earned his Masters of Science in Financial Services, MSFS, from the Institute of Business and Finance in 2011.
In the summer of 2012, Joshua Mosshart acted as a delegate at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. He met with other participants from the private sector, governments, and NGOs to come up with solutions for the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. With his entrepreneurial spirit, in-depth knowledge of finance, and interest in sustainability, Mosshart founded Cleantech Grants in 2013, the culmination of not just a successful career, but a remarkable journey.
A born leader and visionary, Joshua Mosshart, has taken his skill in the financial sector to promote social and environmental progress. Through collaborating with the United Nations, Hollywood celebrities, trailblazers, and business leaders, he has built an extensive professional network to draw from.
